OLD Angel sample

Okay, so here's an old sample of some Angel pages from waaay back in 2003. This was done back in the day before I'd really gotten comfortable with inking ,so the pencils are a lot tighter than I'd like nowadays, but I think you can tell I was having a good time otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much time with all the crazy detail and stuff.

I'm in Playboy!

Here's my latest big news, everybody! I've got a panel, from the issue of Exteriminators I did awhile back with Simon Oliver, in a Playboy article! Okay so my art isn't even credited but it's still worth mentioning, right? Special thanks to Jason Aaron for pointing it out. You're a class act, sir!
So head on down to your nearest gas station or book store and pick yourself up a copy. Just look for the issue with a cylon's buttcrack on it:)

Freakhunter!!

Alright, here's six pages from the first thing Cullen Bunn and I decided to work on together, Freakhunter!
I still hope one day, when I've got the time, we can finish this tale...and I'll only have to redraw four pages because I still love the way page 2 turned out.
For more Freakhunter goodness you can look back at a few of my archived posts from April 1st and July 28th, or check out Cullen's web page where he's got a bit of the script to go along with these pages.

Sample Packet

Here's a couple samples I worked up a couple years back to take around to editors at the San Diego Comic Con and WizardWorld Chicago. Brian Hurtt ,who was the actual artist on Gotham Central #11, was kind enough to let me borrow Ed Brubaker's script for the issue. I tried to pick a couple scenes that showed I could handle the quiet stuff as well as action scenes. Well, sorta.
I'm posting all six pages at once because ,even though there's a couple panels I still dig, most of it hasn't aged very gracefully.

Little Lulu!

Here's a little X-Mas gift I made for my wife Laura. It's made to look the way I draw her in her daily Lunchnotes. It's mostly made of felt (hair, coat, and scarf) old jeans for her pants, and I sculpted the shoes from scratch out of clay. Now she says she needs one for summertime and one with straight hair...this little elf's job is never done I suppose.

Bat Family- about to be Punished!?

Hey folks here's a few more things I found in the piles a while back. I had originally planned to ink the Punisher but it got lost in the shuffle I guess. Batman and crew is just another quick Pitt pen sketch to wind down after a long day at the drawing board.

Constantine two-fer

I'm still trying to break in a new scanner so I apologize if the scans are a little off. These were done back in '05 around the same time, but somehow ended up looking totally different from one another. I think the top one came out the way it did because I'd gone such a long spell without inking anything and ended up just noodling the hell out of it with way too much feathering. On that note, I don't know if a lot of other artists are like this but I do get a bit antsy if I go a while without inking. Pencilling is sort of a necessary evil, while inking is where all the fun is for me.

Silverhawks! Well, the villains anyway.

Yeah, I love the Silverhawks, and I don't care who knows it! By the way, this was done around 2003 so that's why the pencils are so over rendered. There's a lot of things I'd do different if I drew this today but Mon*Star (that's the big bad in the middle) still looks pretty cool if ya ask me.
