Comic-Con

If you happen to be making it out to the San Diego Comic-Con here's my schedule for signings at the Oni booth:

THURSDAY
4:30 – 5:50

FRIDAY
12:00 – 1:20

SATURDAY
10:30 – 11:50

So be sure to swing by, pick up a few comics and say hi! See ya out there!

Casanova

Here's a sketch of Matt Fraction 's Casanova... About halfway through this I just about gave up. I mean Gabriel Ba has so perfectly created a look and style for Cass and his world that I found it really hard to make it my own. Kind of like the first time I tried to draw Hellboy. Anyway, this was the first time I'd taken a crack at drawing him so maybe I'll have better luck next time...where he'll have to be doing some awesome kung-fu or something instead of standing around trying to look dapper next to a plant.

Oh, and if you're not reading Casanova there's something wrong with you. For real.

Happy Anniversary!!

Since Laura and I had our four year anniversary just a couple days ago here are few scans of the cards I made her, done in my usual lunchnote style.
Loves ya Lulu! Sorry I'm not the wordsmith that Cullen is.
And yes we did end up getting a cat, our first pet that isn't a goldfish, and I think we've settled on Scout for her name.
I made the card after a lot of talk of a getting a cat but before we actually came home with one which kind of explains the IOU... I guess.

Gotham

Okay, now that we're finally done posting all of the sketches from Heroes Con, here's a quick atmospheric Batman sketch from a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not sure how large it'll publish here, but the original is only 5 1/2 x 8".

Queen & Country, vol.8 cover

Here's my finished line art (and the pencils) for the cover of the Queen & Country, vol. 8:Red Panda trade coming September 26th from Oni Press.ISBN: 978-1-932664-65-2
Diamond Code: JUL07 3757 which collects all of my work from 29-32, with maybe a few extras thrown in for good measure.
Just a friendly reminder if you're one of those fine folks who's been picking up the singles, the final issue of the run (#32 Diamond Code: JUL06 3346)will be available at your local comic shop on August 1...or you can pick yourself up a copy a bit early at the Oni booth at the San Diego Comic Con.

Have a great weekend, everbody!

Power Man Iron Fist and a Werewolf

Here's the last of my sketches from Heroes Con. Thanks for hanging in there, folks. Brian Hurtt handled Power Man and I did the Iron Fist, Laura laughed at his little balerina slippers by the way, but I honestly can't blame her:)
The werewolf was the second thing I did all weekend...and I like his fur. In my mind Wolfman wears cut-offs 'cause he's a never-nude.
