BATO Week: Katana

And with Katana we bring BATO week to a close. I didn't get a chance to sketch Owl-Man, or the current costumes for the rest of the team, but here are links to a couple old sketches of Metamorpho and Halo for those of you who may not have been following my blog back then.

BATO Week: The Creeper

The Creeper may be a new addition to the Peter J. Tomasi penned Outsiders but I just couldn't help trying my hand at this classic Steve Ditko character.

BATO Week: Black Lightning

Here's another old school Outsider costume. This time with a rather seventies Black Lightning. The tweaks that Cully Hamner made to update it in Black Lightning Year One, that Jen Van Meter has been writing, are really impressive though.

BATO Week: Geo Force

Sure Geo-Force's brown costume is getting the love nowadays but I kinda dig the green one with the big "GF" logo. Of course brown probably suits the character better. Not to mention that it ties him to his half-sister Terra more... Hmm, maybe I sketched the wrong one after all.

BATO Week: Metamorpho

After having quite a bit of fun sketching Alfred last week I figured it'd be neat to devote an entire week to the team that Mr. Pennyworth now leads. Sure they're just the Outsiders again, but they'll always be BATO to me.

This was actually the last sketch I did in 2008. Done late on New Year's Eve while catching up on season 7 of Smallville and waiting for midnight to roll around.

Hurley Con Sketch List

I'll be attending the Second Annual Hurley Con on March 7th and am accepting pre-orders for con sketches.

My con sketch prices for 2009 are:

$50 for a single character in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol
$75 for two characters (on 1 page) in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol

All sketches will be personalized, no exceptions. If you'd prefer something drawn in your sketchbook I can put your name on the list, but this list is primarily for sketches that I can get done before the show.

If you know you will be attending Hurley Con and would like a sketch please drop me a line, my email address in my profile.
If able I will try to have your sketch done before the show, otherwise each sketch will be drawn at the show in the order I receive your emails.

I will most likely only be taking on about 10 sketches at the show so I can make each one as good as possible. Hopefully getting on the list will ensure that anyone who'd like a sketch can get one, and this way there's less wait for all you nice folks.

If this is out of your budget I will have blog sketches and comics available starting $5.

Wanted to take another crack at Huntress... something a little less graphic than the last one.

This week's winner of the Name a Theme week Contest is Matt W. with "In-Samnee-acs"! This means that all this week I'll be posting sketches of comic characters that come out only after dark.
This entry made it to the top of the pile, not just because of the clever name ( clever because my name sounds the same as the middle of insomniac) but because there are so many great characters who work the night shift that I love to draw.
