Superman & the big Daredevil news!

I used to post a Superman themed sketch here every Tuesday back in the day. This one was fun, maybe that's something I should start up again.

Daredevil relaunches in March as part of Marvel Now! with Daredevil #1 by Mark Waid, myself, Javier Rodriguez and Joe Caramagna!

Super Tuesday: Wolverine

Is anyone else out there ready for the long awaited return of Logan's brown costume? I mean the yellow and blue is fine I guess, but does anyone actually prefer it?

Hm.. it appears that Wolverine's son(?!) Daken is now wearing this costume. Huh. There you have it. Never mind. As you were.

Yup, two ghost characters in one week. That's just how I roll.

Super Tuesday: Huntress

Wanted to take another crack at Huntress... something a little less graphic than the last one.

Yeah, I don't know why Belathauzar's face is in stone either... other than it looks cool. Maybe he had a few of his more artistic demon lackies carve it in the rock with their little claws or something.

Super Tuesday: Hulk vs Thor Commission- Inks

The lightning took on a life of its own here. Kinda neat though. This was actually the first time I drew Thor in this costume. It will be my last I'm afraid. There are a number costumes out there that are just far too complicated to ever suffer through more than once. This one and the current Iron-Man armor are but a few.

Above are a few options given to narrow down what shape this Captain America/ Sharon Carter piece would take.

Only the characters were requested on this one, so I just tried to come up with something cool for them to be doing.  Jumping out of helicopters and deflecting bullets with a shield etc. You know, everyday stuff... for Cap anyway.

Super Tuesday: Saturn Girl

After learning that Geoff Johns would be writing a few Legion of Superheroes-centric episodes of Smallville this season I've found myself wondering what shape the Legion's costumes would take.  

Here's what I kind of figured they'd go with... Just a guess really, but they do seem to skew toward more jeans and t-shirts than costumes.

I got a little... okay, a LOT carried away drawing trees here. Sometimes it's more fun to let my hand shake out whatever it wants to draw:)

Super Tuesday: Vulture

What can I say?  They can't all be winners, right?  

If I'd thought about this a bit more before putting pen to paper I'd have probably placed the Vulture higher on the page, to give a better sense that he's peering down at something.  

Sigh.  I kind of dig the feathers lifting around his knees though, so it's not a complete loss.

Super Tuesday: Crossfire

Now that Image is putting out the 452 page DNAGENTS: INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH EDITION trade paperback, here's hoping we'll also see a big collection of Mark Evanier and Dan Spiegel's Crossfire one day. Originally published by Eclipse back in the '80s, Crossfire was a really great comic. If you happen to come across any copies do yourself a favor and pick up a few. Oh, and it goes without saying that I'll be picking myself up a copy of the DNAgents trade:)

This piece had a mind of it's own! It started out as just the image of Crossfire jumping with a flat black background but i quickly realized that his arms sort of disappeared in all that ink. I decided to add the moon to make his left arm pop, but it still didn't feel quite right. Frustrated I shook up my white out pen and set to work... and half an hour later, we have buildings, lights, trees, the Hollywood sign and our hero tight-rope walking an electric line. Now I remember why I try not to use white-out!!
