Commissioner Gordon and Batman

Since I'm down to just one book a month, and with Emerald City Comic Con this weekend, I figured now was as good a time as any to get myself back into the sketching groove.

This turned out a bit looser than I had initially planned but at least I'm working out those long dormant sketchin' muscles again. :)

My inks over a Gene Colan sketch of Dracula

Gabriel Hardman and Kevin Mellon have recently taken a crack at inking the above pencil sketch of Dracula by the great Gene Colan. After seeing their takes on inking his impressionistic pencils I just couldn't help but try my hand at inking it too. :D

My inks didn't turn out quite like I had expected but it was an interesting exercise just the same.

Emerald City Sketches

Next weekend, March 4th - 6th , I will be attending Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle for the first time! I will be at Table C-06 and will be taking a limited number of sketches each day (approximately 5).

My con sketch prices for 2011 are:

$100 for a single character in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol
$150 for two characters (on 1 page) in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol

I will be starting a fresh list each day, first come first served. All sketches will be personalized, no exceptions. I am not taking pre-orders as my schedule is just too hectic right now!

If you won't be in Seattle, the only other show I will be sketching at this year is HeroesCon in June.

COMIC TWART FANS: There will be a Comic Twart panel at ECCC on Friday at 7 pm in room 4C3-4! Come see us sketch live and give each other a hard time!
