Heroes-Fables (post #200!)

Well, for my 200th post I figured put one of my favorite sketches from Heroes Con up here(it's also the biggest at 11x17 but that's beside the point)
Here we've got Bigby and Snow White, and like almost all of my con sketches was all done in Pitt pens. Thanks again,Billy! And thanks to all of you folks who've been following my blog and/or posting lately. I'll start thinking of something REALLY cool for post #300

Heroes - Soldier

Hi Folks! This is a guest post by Chris's wife, Laura. We're having phone/DSL issues at home so while Chris is chained to his table, I thought I'd do a remote post. A very nice lady named Carrie requested that Chris draw a soldier who wants to come home and left him to interpret that however he wanted. I know this was a little outside of Chris's comfort zone, but I think everyone was pleased with the result. More from Chris tomorrow!

Heroes-Elijah Snow

Here's a sketch of Elijah Snow from Planetary. This is one of the first pieces (not just at this show, but any show I've attended) that I just couldn't find time for during the day and had to take back to the hotel room to finish. Snow looks cool here, but I think my favorite part is the trees:)

Heroes-Question

Here's the Question sketch I did for Eric at Heroes Con.
There have been so many great artist to draw the Question, from Steve Ditko to Denys Cowan, so I was trying really hard with this one to just go with my gut and make him my own. This one is probably in my top five sketches I did from the show.

Check back tomorrow for more Heroes sketches.

Heroes-Catwoman

Here was my first sketch of the show. I tried to just go straight into it but ended up sketching the pose probably 3 or 4 times before the compostion finally worked. I guess that's what I get for not warming up. Thanks for the scan, Doc Fantastic.

We made it back!!

Here's Laura and me at our table in Indie Island (thanks for the pic,Shannon) at Heroes Con this past weekend. You can probably tell by our smiling faces that we had a great time, probably the best experience we've ever had a show. We got to see some of our "con friends", talk with fans, did a ton of sketches, not to mention the fact that I splurged on waaay too many quarter and dime comics.
I'll ramble on more about the show as I post some of the sketches over the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime I just wanted to say thanks to Shelton Drum and Casey Jones for keeping this show going, Brian Hurtt, Cindy and Cullen Bunn for being such good company at the show and for being such great friends, and a big thanks to everyone who made it out for making my first Heroes Con everything I had hoped it'd be, and more.

Heroes Con, Here We Come!

I'll be heading out to my first ever Heroes Con in Charlotte North Carolina this weekend. If you make it out be sure to stop by my table in Indie Island where I'll have plenty of my comics work on hand, sketches that've been posted here on the ol' blog, and I'll be doing drawings (like the early request you see above) all weekend long.
Hope to see ya there!

Fear Agent: in Technicolor!

Thanks so much to Nolan Woodard (who's posted this image up on his website/blog as well) for making something I was afraid might have been too busy in the inks to even be readable in color into something of beauty. Cheers, Nolan!

Now I just hope there's no issues with the tentacles after all the drama we've had in comics lately;)

Oh, and this'll be the back cover to Rick Remender and Tony Moore 's Fear Agent #2 in case you didn't know.
