Hey, Supergirl!
While trying out my new Pentel Color Brush I came up with this sketch... or as I like to call it, the reason I'll never get to draw a Supergirl comic."Samnee" rhymes with "omni".

I get my stitches out today, woo-hoo!!
Okay, I still haven't gotten my stitches out yet, so in the meantime here's a big '70s style Wonder Woman. When I started sketching this it was just going to be a quick sketch to figure out how I'd handle this version of the costume, but before I knew it I had broken out my Prismacolor markers and started coloring in the outfit. There's something about this getup that just doesn't work for me in B&W it just had to be in Technicolor. Anyway I was planning on sending this along with the Around Comics guys to be sold off at the New York Comic Con to benefit the Hero Initiative but in the long run decided that it was just a little too blah for someone to spend their hard-earned dough on.
Here's a pic of my hand to give you an idea of how I spent my Valentines, gettin' F-ing stitches! I wish I could at least say it happened while doing something valiant, like stopping a mugger's knife with my bare hands or something, but in reality I just cut my hand while doing dishes. If anybody asks though I'm gonna go with the mugger thing. You guys'll back my story, right?
Here's one of the pieces I sent along to the swell guys over at Around Comics to be auctioned off at their booth at the New York Comic Con. It's kind of a riff on Detective Comics #298 from back in day. The AC guys'll have a bunch of great guests at their booth and a ton of fantastic art to sell, with the proceeds going to the Hero Initiative, which is such a great cause!
Well, if you've listened to the latest episode of Around Comics you've heard them mention the sketch cards I sent along a while back, and the Rorschach doodle (top right) that'll be one of the prizes for the Watchmen contest that's going on. So...here they are! Going counter-clockwise we've got Hellboy, Golden-Age Flash, and Will Eisner's Spirit.
Okay, here's the self portrait I've got on my business cards ...not much I know, but I had to put something up since it's been a while between posts.
