Daredevil Week: Monday

That's right, "Darevil Week" because I haven't tried to push this one on you enough yet I've devoted an entire week to reminding you folks to pick yourself up a copy of Daredevil: Blood of the Tarantula this Wednesday:)
So today is one of my first sketchbook pages trying to get the hang of drawing Daredevil. Sure I've drawn ol' Hornhead plenty of time before but I felt I needed to find my own interpretation and make a "model sheet" of sorts before getting to work on the issue.

Oconocon here I con... er come!

Since I'm having difficulty posting images today, I just wanted to remind you folks I'll be out at the Oconocon on Sunday, May 4 in Oconomowoc, WI peddlin' comics and sketches so be sure to come by and say Hi!

Nexus: inks

Aaand here's the finished piece. I added lots of little details added as I was inking... but that's what make it the "fun part"!

Nexus: thumbnail and pencils

I'm sure some of you noticed a while back that I took on a number of commissions, so for the next week or two I'll be posting scans of the process from thumbnail sketch to the finished inked pieces.

First up we have Nexus, Judah & Kreed from Mike Baron and Steve Rude's Nexus.

I tried a couple of group shots, and an action-y one, but we ended up going with these three characters at a strength test:)

I've only sketched Nexus a few times and never any of his ever growing supporting cast before so this was really fun to get to draw some of these characters I'd been reading for years (I added even more in the ink stage) not to mention that it was great to do something for once that wasn't a bunch of folks standing around gritting their teeth or what have you.

Having never drawn Black Bolt (of Marvel's the Inhumans) before I think this one turned out pretty well. I'll definitely have to take another stab at him soon.
