I'm sure some of you noticed a while back that I took on a number of commissions, so for the next week or two I'll be posting scans of the process from thumbnail sketch to the finished inked pieces.First up we have Nexus, Judah & Kreed from Mike Baron and Steve Rude's Nexus.
I tried a couple of group shots, and an action-y one, but we ended up going with these three characters at a strength test:)
I've only sketched Nexus a few times and never any of his ever growing supporting cast before so this was really fun to get to draw some of these characters I'd been reading for years (I added even more in the ink stage) not to mention that it was great to do something for once that wasn't a bunch of folks standing around gritting their teeth or what have you.

This is the sort of thing I love to see. Gonna be a good few posts. I like this one as Nexus's stance and posture is just right: just enough Rudesque.
Thanks, Alan. I tried to get the feeling of a Rude drawing without actually going back and looking at anything first. Glad I got the flavor across.
