Did anyone else pick up the
DC/Impact line back in the '90s? If you don't know, Impact consisted of a bunch of reimagined
Archie Comics superheroes like the Shield, the Web, the Jaguar, the Black Hood, the Comet, and (as seen above)the Fly. I loved these so much back in the day that I tracked down a bunch of the old school versions, the Archie Adventure Series from the '80s, and even the
Red Circle versions.
It's a real shame that these series didn't run longer than they did because they are probably some of the most fun comics produced since the '60s.
The Fly was probably my favorite of the bunch though.
Strazewski and
Parobeck were such a great team, easily on par with the likes of Waid/Wieringo and (yeah I'll say it!) Lee/Kirby.

That is so good, Chris. I might use it for reference... I only doodle for me though, so I hope you don't mind.
Nah, that's cool. Glad you like it!
The Fly was great. As much as I like the popular heroes of old I think that the Fly had real potential to be great (not that what he was wasn't).
Good Job!
Nice FLY piece, Chris. Glad you liked the Impact Fly - I loved working with Len and Mike.
I just posted a link at the Mike Parobeck Facebook fan page, along with a larger version in the Photos area. Hope you don't mind.

Really great version of the Fly, Chris! In fact I was inspired to look at your art galleries and am blown away by your terrific stuff. I'm very impressed--and I know Mike would have been too!

Thanks a ton for the kind words, sir. It really means a lot that you'd take the time to drop a line here.
Take care.
