Pimpin'

Checkmate #22 hits stands today, with pencils and inks by yours truly!

While you're at the comic shop buying multiple copies of Checkmate, be sure to tell the fine folks behind the counter to put a copy of Rough Stuff#7 on your pull list. It's on sale January 23rd from TwoMorrows Publishing!
There's also a bit of behind-the-scenes type stuff that didn't fit in the mag here on Bob McLeod's blog. Just scroll down a bit to the list of amazing comic artists...and me!

Oh, how did I miss out on preordering that Rough Stuff. Ah well, I will find a good online shop for current issues and hope for the best. Thanks for pimpin', Chris. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

Amazing issue of Checkmate, Chris! You really blew me away with this one and I've got my fingers crossed that this won't be the last we see of you on this series!

Justin,
Thanks for sufferin' through my pimpin'...and for somehow managing to squeeze in a GI Joe reference into a comment:)

Ryan,
Glad you dug the issue. Thanks a bunch!

Chris,

Your 2-issue Checkmate run was amazing. I especially loved the DPS montage of all the historical Maries while Jo recites her oath. Great job!
One minor request-- next time you get a chance to depict Rocket Red flying across the tops of two pages, please break him out of the panel borders!

Request: Denied.

Every once in a while I'll try something a little different, these two issues I attempted full-bleed, but breaking panel borders is a bit too flashy for my tastes. I prefer to have all the elements in each panel stay within their little boxes so as not distract the reader by taking them out of the story with unnecessary gimmicks.
