The Bad News . . . All At Once

Bit of bad news to pass along. Unfortunately, due to my workload, I've had to cancel my trip to Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con this weekend. My apologies to anyone who was planning on stopping by my table. Laura and I were both really looking forward to this con and we're sad we had to cancel. Hope you guys understand.

While we're at it, I'll announce the rest of the my bad news.

A few weeks back, I tweeted about the solicit for Atlas, written by Jeff Parker with art by Gabriel Hardman and back-ups by me. Unfortunately, I will not be doing backups for at least the first arc of this series. As much as we all wanted this to happen, we didn't realize that there would be a scheduling conflict with a different upcoming project I have.

Despite the fact that I would like to draw ALL the comic books, I really can't. While I'm bummed that I won't be working with the extremely talented team on Atlas, the project I will be working on in it's place is something I can't wait to tell you about. I am beyond excited about this new project, and I think you guys will be too. Hopefully the cat will be out of the bag in about a month, but until then it's all off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush.

P.S. Sorry for the lack of art up here lately, working to get some up soon!

Bummer! I was stoked to meet you two in Seattle. Ah, well -- I understand about having to prioritize work. Maybe next year!

At the end of the day, this is good news: you're getting on, in demand, and plenty of (both) Samnee(s) goodness is coming our way from all directions

I saw that on the ECCC sight and was disappointed, but understand.

They don't call them DEAD lines for nothing.

Any art from you is definately worth the wait! Can not wait to hear what your next project is, but I am enjoying Siege: Embedded right now!

(Can you say if the project is for DC or Marvel? or other company?)

As everyone else has said, we're all dying to see anything and everything you have and will continue viewing the site for the news. As Alan said, those of us who've met you and known you for awhile know that not getting to see you at a con sucks, but your recent demanding schedule is music to our ears. We all think you deserve to be the most recognizable artist in the biz, so keep up the good work and we'll keep buying.

Bummer, bummer, and YEA! Oh, the rigors of being an artist in demand...LIFE IS GOOD! I dig the L.A. Confidential reference.
