Dan Dare -pencils

I just posted my Dan Dare sketch over on the Comic Twart blog. You can check it out here.

And since I managed to stretch my legs a bit by taking a walk over to the scanner before slinging any ink, above are the pencils.

Wonderful composition, glad you went with the old school 50's Dan in space suit look.

Check out Frank Bellamy's run on Dare. And his work generally; like his strip, Garth. Brilliant!

Thanksabunch, James. I just love the odd shape of his space helmet. Nice change of pace from the usual bible shape.

Will do, Alan. I love Belamy, especially his Garth stuff which I tracked down after learning that it was a big influence on Alan Davis, but for some reason I never searched out any Dan Dare. That error in judgement will soon be fixed though :D

Chris,
Is that Pteri from Pee-Wee's Playhouse? Will you have some of these ink sketches available at C2E2? I'm dreaming about the Lois and Jimmy Olsen drawings... and I like that new Archie!
Take care,
