RONIN

After having such a fun time doing psuedo cross-overs with Declan Shalvey, Evan "Doc" Shaner, Mitch Breitweiser, Mitch Gerads and Tom Fowler through Twitter/Deviant Art/our blogs this week, with sketches of Thor, I put the call out to these fine gentlemen through Twitter to see what we should all draw for today.

Your friend and mine, and 28 Days Later artist, Declan suggested we all take a crack at Ronin.

HAWKEYE (Shh. It's really Bullseye)

Okay, I'm sure there a ton of folks who could explain this better but... currently in the Marvel Universe there's a group of villains that have teamed up under the leadership of Norman Osborn (The former Green Goblin/current Iron Patriot) who have disguised themselves as members of The Avengers. They call themselves The Dark Avengers. Still following?
Anyway, the Daredevil baddie Bullseye is now dressing up as Hawkeye.

That's what you see above. Well, my first attempt at drawing him anyway:)

Man. I could draw Mockingbird all day. What a wonderfully simple costume.

Hereoes: Secret Invasion Hawkeye and DD

Here are a couple more sketches on those blank Secret Invasion covers. Unfortunately the ink I used on these two was different from the last time, so I wasn't able to erase all of the pencils without taking the majority of ink off the page with 'em. At least now I know what NOT to use next time.

Also, there's a short piece up at Newsarama about Pulp Tales with a bit more preview artwork than has made it out on the internets before. Great lookin' stuff, and apparently Boom! will have a limited number of copies up for grabs at the San Diego Comic-Con if you haven't already ordered yours.

Heroes: Hawkeye & Ant-Man and DD & Elektra

The Hawkeye and Ant-Man piece is a riff on the cover of Avengers #223 ,but I pulled back a bit to show all of Hawkeye.

With the DD piece I had originally planned on having Matt and Elektra fighting in a park in the snow but I didn't want to have two pieces of people in snow (there's a SnakeEyes and Stormshadow piece in the snow that I'll stick up here soon) so I just had them tussling on a clothesline in the city.
