Just a quick one today, but I thought I'd switch things up a bit by showing both the line work and the brushy bits for this piece.
And yeah, I'm still working my way through all the John Byrne issues of Superman and Action.
Okay, back to work. Miles to go before I sleep and all that.
is it just me, or is that piece gigantic? Great piece though!
Yeah... Blogger is acting funny again. Hopefully things'll get straightened out again soon.
Thanks by the way, Tony:)
These are great, Chris. Super great, even (they deserve a double adjective, they're so good). I like how solid Etrigan looks, and the way you drew his clothes, too. Don't know which one I prefer, though... I love the line art on the first one (it has a very European Moebius feel to it that is just COOL) but the blacks on the second version add so much mood to the drawing...
Either way, they are amazing. (They'd make a great poster, too)
Wouldn't mind seeing these in a Chris Samnee sketchbook one of these days...
Thanks so much, Dan.
"Solid" makes sense. I was aiming for sort of a squat Ed Asner-ish body.
Hmm... a sketchbook you say? Maybe I'll tafe a crack at one when I start hitting shows again full force.
