Thor: The Mighty Avenger sketches

These have accompanied various interviews about my upcoming book Thor: The Mighty Avenger with Roger Langridge, but I thought I would still post them here in case you missed them. I clearly didn't think these would be put on the Internet when I made them, otherwise I wouldn't have included the cat and fish doodles. And the sound effects. Amongst other things. ;) Hope you enjoy.

Just looked at these on Newsarama. I love me some character sketches. Brilliant. And Congratulations on the great gig.
And btw, the Twittered con sketches have been consistently outstanding too!

Great great stuff as I said. Very glad that you got this as you just KILLED the character designs. We all knew you would. Is this in the vein of Marvel Adventures? Because I'm leaning toward those books as my monthly fixes on certain characters from now on.

i haven't been excited about a new relaunch in quite a while. I was crushed when i first heard you were leaving the Mighty...this makes up for it, i've always loved Thor. I'm looking forward to some continuity ditching fun.

Hi Chris and Laura,

I just dropping you a note here to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you this past Saturday afternoon at the C2E2 Convention. You may or may not remember me as the indecisive person who made at least three separate purchase from your table. Each time I came across an item, I handed you more money. Chris, you were also kind enough to sketch within at least five of the six books handed to you. Your kindness was deeply appreciated as the sketch rules as laid out on this blog led me to believe that I would only be able to get a few signatures from you. I was astounded that you were willing to do so many unsolicited drawings. Thank you so much.

Now on to the questions...At one point during our conversation, I asked you about your daily and weekly page rate. You stated that you were capable of doing about one and a half per day, equaling out to eleven per week (Half a comic a week is an astounding speed, by the way!!!). My questions are as follows...1) You mentioned that you were working on two projects at the same time. May I ask what project that might be? If you aren't at liberty to say, I will fully understand. 2) These preparatory sketches are beautiful. How much production time do such necessary tasks take away from your daily and/or weekly page rate? Oh, and if this question comes across as a bit rude, I apologize.

Chris, I wish you the best with regard to your career. Laura, thank you for signing Lunchnotes for me. I may drop you a line at your own blog. Also wanted to let you know that you did a wonderful job designing the sketchbooks you sell at conventions.

Thanks again for everything.

Sincerely,

Patrick Herman
