Western Week: Vigilante

This is one of those rare instances where I was happy enough with the pencils for this sketch that I managed to get a scan of them before I put ink on the page. Truth be told I was more than a little worried I was going to botch it in the inks, but I think I managed to get pretty close to what I had in mind.

There have been quite a few iterations of Vigilante through the years, from full-on cowboy to multiple personality crime-fighter, but my favorite is the one on the motorcycle:)

I don't know any of these guys! This is a great pose - great sense of action and movement. Nice to see the pencils as well

This is totally awesome, Chris! I love the sense of movement in this one and I really dig how you made the bike off-balanced, so its actually reflecting Vigilante's position. I think most artists wouldn't have even thought of that.

You are just killing on these Theme Week posts. I can't wait to see what the other two weeks have in store!

I'll echo Ryan's statements about this piece and was especially struck by the vast difference between the action of the last 2 pieces and Bat Lash's laid back pose. It made me smile and want to find some more old back issues featuring this guy.
